Dewas assembly constituency comes under Dewas district and Malwa north region of Madhya Pradesh. The constituency is unreserved in nature, and it is categorized as an urban seat. Dewas has been a saffron seat since past twenty-eight years. After the death of Maharaja Tukoji Rao Pawar in 2015, Gayatri Raje Pawar his wife took charge of Dewas seat and then in 2018 election BJP played the Sympathy card and exemplified Gayatri Raje in election against Thakur Jaysingh of Indian National Congress. In the striking turn of events, she with defeated congress with a 15% vote margin Thus, demonstrating the unwavering loyalty of the voters to the royal lineage. The graph below illustrates the remarkable electoral history of Dewas AC, where the BJP has consistently emerged victorious since 1993, often securing a majority. There is a change of political dynamics in INC for the upcoming 2023 assembly election. This time congress resides their faith on Pradeep Chaudhary, a new face, who has quickly garnered popularity, particularly among the youth. He is a strong advocate for breaking away from the rule of established political dynasties. The BJP has once again bestowed its electoral ticket upon Gayatri Raje for the upcoming election.

Based on approximate electoral analysis of the Dewas region, it is evident that a significant majority, approximately 77%, of the electorate comprises individuals adhering to the Hindu community. This diverse Hindu demographic includes various communities such as Rajputs, Khatis, Brahmins, and Marathas, with the latter being a dominant presence in terms of voter participation. Amongst the Hindu communities, particularly the Marathas, Rajputs, and Brahmins, a substantial proportion of votes coalesce in support of Gayatri Raje, (BJP). The Congress party can secure a significant portion of its support from the Khati community because of the influence of Pradeep Chaudhary and a substantial segment of the Muslim electorate.

Women especially in the rural part of the constituency are inclined towards Gayatri Raje, the added advantage with the BJP is the benefits given to the women under the Laadli Bhena Yojna, a government initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic standing of women. Consequently, a substantial majority of female voters favor the BJP due to the tangible advantages accorded by this program.

In Dewas, the recent election results clearly demonstrate the significant influence and power of the BJP at the local level. Out of the 45 wards, an impressive 32 have been secured by the BJP, making them the dominant political force in the area.
